Royal Music World in Shanghai is the first music school to administrate the internationally-recognized ABRSM music exam to immigrants and foreign passport holders in Shanghai, as well as the first school to adopt the ABRSM syllabus to train students in Mainland China. Shanghai Royal Music World (RMW) had its grand opening in August 2000 in Hong Qiao Developing Area in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. The Principal, Ms. Linda Xia Bin, who received her Master's degree in Piano Performance and Music Education in New York, has been in charge of the ABRSM music exam in the region of New York City for decades. Linda has 35-year experience in teaching music under the ABRSM syllabus. The ABRSM music exam is an authoritative and internationally recognized system of music exams.

Under Linda's coordination, the ABRSM music exam has been successfully held each year from 2000 to 2008 in Shanghai for immigrants and foreign passport holders. The number of the candidates increased 40% each year and the results of our students were excellent and encouraging. Then, since 2009, the government has opened the ABRSM exams to the public in Shanghai. In 20 years, RMW held various concerts each year and cultivated thousands of students with a well-round musical accomplishment. Each year we have students go for music colleges around the world. Until now, Royal Music World in Shanghai has already been the most experienced ABRSM music training school in China.
